Jun-ai – Private Screening in the House of Lords

PositiveTV was invited to The House of Lords by Lord King of West Bromwich and Graham Soper of the Wisdom Trust, to meet the cast, and watch a private screening of this wonderful film – a tale of love blossoming from conflict.

This is a short summary of the film.. “Summer 1945, and the end of a long world war. Most of the young Japanese who had gone to settle in China had been left behind. The dreams that carried them there had been crushed the moment Japan surrendered. The story follows Ai, Shunsuke and the other settlers who were left hanging in a balance of life and death as most Chinese villagers had lost loved ones to the Japanese military. Shanron and his aging mother helped these two Japanese, accepting them unconditionally. Inside of each of them was the beginning of a friendship beyond borders, the start of a love worth risking one’s life for.”

The Wisdom Trust (www.wisdomtrust.org) mentioned to us that their site is just about to be re-launched as it’s rather dated now. However the concept behind the trust is still exceptional, and very popular. It’s a charity shopping portal, where a percentage of your shopping spend is apportioned to charities of your choice, it’s also where youngsters can feed their love of knowledge and trivia, whilst learning and earning points (A bit like the Nectar Card system) and have these funds paid to Charities or into Eco, Social or Individual grant funds. Why not support the Wisdom Trust Yourself!?

    The Goal
Anyone can join in this art movement. We’d like to ask all of you to join in whatever way you can – by hosting a screening, by distributing it internationally, by getting it shown it in cinemas, on television, talking about it in the media, and by donating. But the best way of all, something anyone can do, is to just watch the film. Please come again to see ‘Jun-Ai’, and bring someone special with you. When this personal connection between people spreads right round the world, the world will have become one big family.

    The Vision and Keywords

・One World, One Love, One Family

・Creating a bond bringing together one family on Earth

・Meeting just one person changes everything

    ・A social business though film

    Our Guidelines for Action

1.Screenings in Every Country & in Every Language

We intend to continue showing Jun-Ai throughout the world. We will go on sending this warm message of “transformation from conflict to cooperation” and sharing excitement and joy with others. Currently, we have completed a subtitled version with three languages – Japanese, Chinese and English – so that speakers of different languages can share the same experience in the same theatre. In the future, we hope to have Japanese-Chinese-French and Japanese-Chinese-Korean versions as well as other languages.

    2.Fulfilling Children’s Dreams

A portion of funds collected from the film are saved separately in order to support primary education for the world’s children. Presently, we support Hope Elementary School and Jun-Ai Kindergarten near Mt. Taishan in Shandong Province, China.

    3.All Are Welcome to Participate

We are spreading Jun-Ai (True Love) through the bonds created with people who see the film, are moved and excited by it and agree with its message. This is a social art movement in which anyone can participate, at anytime, in any way.
