The Hunger Project

OK so we all know about the incredible work that charities do around the world. However, some of those organisations are themselves multi billion pound industries, with slick marketing departments, adverts and PR machines working hard to make us part with our money.   This year charities have suffered a 10% drop in their donation income as people become more cynical about the point of giving money to alleviate poverty in our world.

Well this is certainly not the case with The Hunger Project.  This small unassuming charity that is over 30 years old and operates out of borrowed office space and has a core permanent staff of only 300 people worldwide. It has one mission:  to eradicate world poverty by empowering men and women to end their own hunger.

They work in 13 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America to develop effective bottom-up strategies to end hunger and poverty.  If you’ve been feeling a little cynical about the work of charitable organisations and NGO’s around the world, take a look at The Hunger Project film and feel good again….
