Killer Heels: Save The Children auctions donated shoes to prevent youngsters dying

Kick off this year’s party season by bagging yourself a pair of cool killer heels in Save The Children’s Killer Heels to Kick out Killer Diseases auction.

Your glitzy shoes can help save children’s lives, the charity says. It points out that every year more than 9 million children around the world die from preventable diseases such as pneumonia, malaria, diarrhoea and measles.

Save The Children launched its appeal to the fashion industry and British public to donate their most fabulous party shoes and killer heels to help stamp out these killer diseases.

“We’ve had an amazing response from high street fashion brands, designers, and celebrities, donating their most iconic and show-stopping killer heels,” it explains. “We have shoes from designers such as Monolo Blahnik, Alexander McQueen, Nicole Farhi, Nicholas Kirkwood, Ted Baker and United Nude.

Influential celebrities such as Nigella Lawson, Samantha Cameron, Helena Bonham-Carter, Sienna Miller, Sadie Frost, Pixie Lott, Sophie Ellis-Bextor – and even Jonathan Ross – have all donated a pair of party shoes.
