PositiveTV has a new hero – Dr B Alan Wallace
The word “Meditation” seems to be on everybody’s lips these days. It even seems to pop up in mainstream television commercials. Many people claim to do it – here and there occasionally.
Alan Wallace suggests that sometimes he might meditate for 10 hours straight! But why would one want to do that? Surely this kind of practice is the domain of Yogis only? When we spoke to Alan, he helped us understand that far from this seeming extreme, it actually should be much closer to the norm for us. After talking to Alan, PTV was left wondering why meditation is not more mainstream in Sport, Business, Mental Health and Education.
Dr Wallace talks about helping our children to be more culturally resilient, using Mindfulness in Sport to gain the edge over your opponent and helping focus one’s attention, and cultivating the mind through mental exercise being a boon to business whilst helping improve business ethics too.
Most importantly he talks also about the positive improvements that could be made in the area of Mental Health, not just for people who currently suffer problems, but for all of us. Enjoy this excellent and deep interview
